To the geographic region that occupies Uruguay it is denominated to him neotropical, which extends from the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, in the south of Mexico, to Tierra Del Fuego.

The birds that live in this zone are diverse and present/display a high degree of (endemismo)ENDEMISM-NATIVES- , that is to say that only is represented in this region. Of the 10,000 species of existing birds, 3,500 live in this zone, which speaks to us of very rich birds.

Among them, 435 species in our country have been registered.
